Awards shortlist reveals best of omnichannel retailing

The full list of nominees for the Internet Retailing Awards 2014 has been released, highlighting the best practice of multichannel and omnichannel retailers in the United Kingdom.

Sponsored by Venda, the third annual Internet Retailing Awards celebrates a diverse range of businesses, in sectors including fashion, homeware and food. Household names Argos and House of Fraser have each been nominated in four categories, but other smaller companies, such as Devon-based Cult Pens, are also on the shortlist.

The breadth of categories reflects the challenges and opportunities that face internet retailers in 2014: alongside the Innovation Award, others include the Omni and Mobile Awards, the Customer and Service Awards, and the International Award. The ten categories celebrate best practice in e-commerce and reiterate the importance of innovation in a rapidly developing industry.

Internet Retailing’s editor-in-chief, Ian Jindal, said: “Our awards are a celebration of achievement and recognise those multichannel leaders who are inspiring their peers in the industry…the resulting shortlist reflects both established, proven leadership and emerging niche and innovative talent.”

The Internet Retailing Awards will be held at One Mayfair on the 26th of June, where the Best Retailer Award and the Internet Retailing Award will be presented alongside the shortlisted awards.

According to the recent IMRG Capgemini e-Retail Sales Index, online retail sales in the UK have grown by 17% since the start of 2014.
