Jamaica Post, wishes to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that Jamaica experienced abnormal torrential rain on 1 February 2022, affecting primarily the northern sections of the island and causing major floods. The flooding has rendered parts of the road network impassable owing to high waters and floating debris. It has also disrupted telecommunications and caused severe damage to post offices and postal agencies. As a result, the affected postal establishments are unable to open for normal operations, including the receipt and delivery of all types of mail (letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items), sorting operations, the deployment of mail vans, and the provision of EDI messages and responses to customer inquiries.
