Barbados Postal Services asks us to inform the designated operators of other Union member countries that Barbados was placed on shutdown as a result of the passage of Tropical Storm Matthew on 27 September 2016. All post offices, including the airmail and sea port units, were closed on 28 September 2016.
Grantley Adams International Airport and Bridgetown Sea Port have now resumed operations.
The island-wide shut down affected Barbados Postal Service's ability to send and receive mail to and from other member countries.
Please note that the country is still experiencing showers and windy conditions; however, flights that were being diverted to other countries will resume service to Barbados on 30 September.
Barbados Postal Services thanks all member countries for their understanding.
