Canada – Update on strike

31 October, 2018

Canada Post asks us to inform the designated operators of other Union member countries about ongoing rotating strikes initiated by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW).

While negotiations continue with the help of a special mediator, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers continues to hold rotating strikes in various locations across Canada. Mail and parcels will not be delivered or picked up in the impacted areas while the union continues its strike activity. Canada Post is working to restore service and address any mail and parcel backlogs in areas impacted once the disruption ends.

Canada Post continues to operate across the rest of Canada and is accepting and delivering mail and parcels in all other locations.

Member countries may register at canadapost.ca/update to receive regular updates on any service disruptions resulting from rotating strike activity.

Canada Post remains committed to arriving at a negotiated settlement with CUPW, while making every effort to minimize the impact of any disruption on its customers, and thanks all designated operators for their understanding.
