Jamaica Post asks us to inform the designated operators of other Union member countries that the adverse weather conditions associated with the passage of Hurricane Matthew have resulted in restricted operations, effective as of Tuesday, 4 October 2016.
Some road networks are impassable because of flood waters and debris. As a result, commuting and general transportation remains hampered island-wide.
However, the meteorological service has downgraded the hurricane threat to Jamaica to a tropical storm warning, and it will continue to monitor the situation and issue subsequent advisories.
Consequently, the acceptance/collection and delivery of all mail categories will be concentrated within the capital city of Kingston, and will be limited in other areas of the island.
Jamaica Post thanks designated operators for their understanding and cooperation.
