Further to EmIS 059/2025, the designated operator of Italy, Poste Italiane, wishes to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that it is now receiving EDI messages and EMSEVT events.
Poste Italiane has started processing the unavoidable backlog of dispatches from non-EU countries that built up between 22 March and 11 April 2025. As 21 and 25 April are national holidays in Italy, additional weekend shifts are being scheduled to clear the backlog, as follows:
• letter mail and packets – by the beginning of next week (or 23 April);
• parcels and EMS items – by the end of April.
Poste Italiane thanks all Union member countries and their designated operators for their understanding and will provide a final update as soon as the situation has returned to normal.
