The designated operator of the United States of America, United States Postal Service (USPS), wishes to inform Union member countries and their designated operators of some temporary operational changes currently taking place at the receiving facility of its office of exchange located in Los Angeles (USLAXA). On 20 July 2026, this receiving facility underwent equipment modifications to enhance efficiency and to align with current customer demands. Despite the operational changes resulting from this facility upgrade, the USPS has confirmed that contingency plans are in place to ensure that mail continues to be received without delay. The transition period for these changes involves a phased approach to manual and automated processing to accommodate the equipment upgrades. On 20 and 21 July 2026, the receiving facility for USLAXA relied exclusively on manual operations for all incoming international mail. This initial phase aimed to ensure that sorting and handling continued seamlessly while the new systems were being integrated. Following the initial two-day period, the facility’s schedule is currently shifting to a hybrid model from 22 to 30 July 2026. During this week, manual operations are being conducted Monday through Friday from 07.00 to 17.00 Pacific time (UTC+7), following which normal automated processes are scheduled to resume each day immediately after 17.00 Pacific time. This arrangement will allow for continuous processing while minimizing disruption during peak operational hours.
