Belgium – Return to normal after flooding

11 October, 2021

Update

The designated operator of Belgium, bpost, asks us to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that postal services have largely returned to normal following the flooding caused by heavy rain in July 2021.

Delays may still occur owing to detours to avoid damaged roads and bridges, but the impact on delivery performance is limited. The most severely affected postcode areas are as follows:

4020, 4030, 4031, 4032, 4050, 4051, 4130, 4140, 4170, 4180, 4190, 4520, 4700, 4780, 4790, 4800, 4801, 4820, 4821, 4830, 4831, 4834, 4837, 4845, 4860, 4861, 4870, 4877, 4910, 4970, 4980, 5580, 5640, 5650, 5670, 6900, 6940, 6980, 6987 and 6990.

Six post offices remain closed for security reasons. However, all other affected post offices have now reopened, albeit with temporary solutions in certain cases.
