Brazil – Delays to inbound mail at Curitiba international mail processing centre

Empresa Brasileira de Correios e Telégrafos (ECT), asks us to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that a number of cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed among operational staff handling inbound letter-post items at the Curitiba international mail processing centre (BRCWB).

Quarantine and other public health measures have been implemented at this centre, resulting in a reduction in the workforce.

Delays are therefore to be expected in the processing, customs clearance and delivery of all inbound letter-post items. ECT requests that designated operators inform their customers of possible delays resulting from this situation.
