Further to EmIS messages 059/2025 and 063/2025 and 075/2025, the designated operator of Italy, Poste Italiane, wishes to inform Union member countries and their designated operators that the disruption arising from data transmission/receipt issues in March and April 2025 has been resolved. Poste Italiane also wishes to indicate a highly complex situation concerning industrial relations with its external service provider responsible for processing at the ITMXPA office of exchange. The contract with the current provider has been terminated, effective from 31 August 2025, and a newly appointed service provider will take over from 1 September. As a result, processing times for EMS items and inbound parcels are currently longer than usual and delays are to be expected owing to backlogs. Poste Italiane thanks all Union member countries and their designated operators for their understanding and will provide an update via EmIS as soon as the situation has returned to normal.
