Jamaica - Hurricane Melissa

The designated operator of Jamaica, Jamaica Post, wishes to inform Union member countries and their designated operators that it has suspended all international and domestic mail operations, including customer service response, in the light of the imminent passage of Hurricane Melissa.   These measures have been implemented to protect staff and safeguard the postal network to the extent possible.    Consequently, delays are to be expected in the processing and delivery of mail and all associated services. The situation will be monitored and updates will be provided, including escalation to a force majeure event.   Jamaica Post apologizes for any inconvenience and thanks all Union member countries and their designated operators for their understanding.
