Latvia – Update on measures to limit the spread of COVID-19

16 December, 2020

Update

Tdesignated operator of Latvia, Latvijas Pasts, asks us to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that the Latvian government has extended the state of emergency until at least 11 January 2021.

Therefore, the situation of force majeure previously declared is being extended until further notice, and the measures announced in EmIS message 608/2020 continue to apply.

During the state of emergency, postal services will continue to function with restrictions such as reduced working hours in post offices and reduction of the workforce to minimize contact between people. Items normally requiring the addressee's signature upon delivery will be handed over without signature.

Latvijas Pasts wishes to thank all Union member countries and their designated operators for their understanding. It will provide updates on the situation via EmIS.
