Netherlands- Operational disruptions

21 February, 2022

Update

PostNL wishes to inform that storm "Eunice" has reached The Netherlands and is causing operational disruptions. The expected windspeed will be up to 120 kms/hr with wind gusts of over 130 kms/hr. For this reason many flights to and from Schiphol airport have been cancelled for today (18 February), also departures of ferry's to GB and IE are affected (delayed or cancelled) and our international truck departures are not as scheduled. Besides this also our OE-activities are limited because public transport in The Netherlands has been stopped since 14:00 hr today and people are strongly advised not to go on the road. So consequently our employees are not able to travel to our OE or to the domestic sorting centres.
Domestic collection/transport/sorting and delivery of mail and parcels in the Netherlands will also be impacted.

We expect that the above mentioned situation will also affect our operations for tomorrow.

We are already arranging additional processing capacity during this weekend to deal with possible backlogs caused by this extreme weather situation but we expect that it might still have an impact on performance also early next week.
