Philippines – Fire at Manila Central Post Office

14 June, 2023

Update

The fire resulted in the destruction of machines, office equipment, vehicles, and stamp collections.

In the aftermath, a makeshift corporate office has been established at ground zero of the incident. The Manila Central Post Office is temporarily housed at the surface mail exchange department in the port area and will continue to serve the mailing public.

The office of exchange – including the airmail exchange department (PHMNLA), the surface mail exchange department (PHMNLF), and the express mail exchange department (PHMNLB) – is not affected and will remain open and fully operational.

PHLPost is making every effort to recover from this heartbreaking event and to resume operations as quickly as possible. However, delays are to be expected with regard to all mail items sent for delivery in Manila.
