Poste Italiane wishes to inform IPC members that heavy rain in the Eastern part of Sicily since October 25th and still ongoing has led to significant and extensive floods, landslides and road closures.
A state of emergency has been declared until end of this week for the area, which is experiencing a disruption of transports impacting the whole island and its relevant territories.
Consequently, transport, processing and delivery operations for the entire island (postcodes 9****), regarding both inbound and outbound lettermail and parcels volumes, are likely to be disrupted, and Poste Italiane has declared a situation of force majeure.
Poste Italiane thanks IPC members for their consideration and will promptly inform as soon as the situation is back to normal.
