Slovenská Pošta, would like to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that, in order to limit the spread of COVID-19, the Slovakian Government has decided to implement strict lockdown measures throughout the country, with effect from midnight (local time) on 25 November 2021. Furthermore, a national state of emergency will apply as of the same date and time for 90 days. A curfew will be implemented for the next two weeks and the Government is expected to announce further measures after 9 December 2021.
The national lockdown measures include the mandatory closure of non-essential shops and certain other services.
Slovenská Pošta will continue to provide postal services in line with these public health measures and other restrictions, but will be operating with a reduced workforce. The processing and delivery of all types of inbound and outbound mail (letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items) will be affected, and Slovenská Pošta is unable to guarantee compliance with the agreed standards.
