Slovakia – Extension of state of emergency

08 February, 2021

Update

The designated operator of Slovakia, Slovenská Pošta, would like to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that, in response to a significant rise in the number of COVID-19 infections, the Slovakian Government has extended the state of emergency until at least 19 March 2021. The officially published decision is available in the Slovak language only via the following link: https://www.slov-lex.sk/pravne-predpisy/SK/ZZ/2021/49/.

Slovenská Pošta will continue to provide postal services in line with public health measures and other restrictions, but with a reduced workforce. The processing and delivery of all types of inbound and outbound mail (letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items) will continue to be affected, and Slovenská pošta is unable to guarantee compliance with the agreed standards.

The situation of force majeure previously notified is extended until further notice, and the restrictions announced in previous EmIS messages will continue to apply.

Slovenská Pošta thanks all Union member countries and their designated operators for their understanding.
