Spain – Return to normal following heavy snowfall and update on the impact of COVID-19 and the state of emergency

Update

The designated operator of Spain, S.E. Correos y Telégrafos, asks us to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that the difficulties caused within the distribution and transport network as a result of heavy snowfall have been resolved.

Inbound and outbound flights have gradually resumed as normal at Madrid–Barajas Adolfo Suarez airport. Operations have also returned to normal at the Madrid–Barajas office of exchange, and the mail collected during this period has been processed.

Correos also takes this opportunity to remind other Union member countries and their designated operators that the force majeure situation declared in the course of 2020 through EmIS messages 192, 284, 327, 339, 374, 427, 455, 494, 533, 544 and 622 remains in force, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic and the state of alert declared by the Spanish Government.
