Further to EmIS 266/2025, the designated operator of Sri Lanka, the Department of Posts, wishes to inform Union member countries and their designated operators that the situation following the extreme weather conditions has largely returned to normal. Most transportation networks, utilities and other essential services across the country have been restored, and approximately 95% of the postal network is now operating under normal conditions. Mail acceptance, processing, and delivery services will be reinstated as of 12 January 2026, with only minor localized delays remaining. The Department of Posts wishes to express its sincere thanks to all Union member countries and their designated operators for their concern, support, and understanding.
