Brazil – Closure of force majeure case

21 December, 2020

Update

The designated operator of Brazil, Correios, wishes to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that it will close the case of force majeure, relating to the impact on postal services of COVID-19, on 31 December 2020.

From 1 January 2021, postal operations will be back to normal, while respecting the safety guidelines:

All letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items normally requiring signature upon delivery will continue to be handed over without signature.

Owing to the suspension of flights to and from Brazil, transit à découvert via Brazil is still unavailable, and closed transit can be accepted only for the following destination countries: Argentina and Uruguay.

Correios thanks all Union member countries and their designated operators for their understanding.
