China (People’s Rep.) – Measures taken to prevent the transmission of COVID-19

05 April, 2022

Update

China Post, asks us to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that, in order to prevent further transmission of COVID-19, the processing of inbound mail is temporarily affected at Shanghai, Changchun and Yanji mail processing centres until further notice. Currently, China Post cannot process or transport to sorting centres/delivery offices inbound mail received by the above-mentioned offices of exchange. This directly delays the processing, transiting and delivery of inbound mail, as well as the updating of EDI messages and responses to online customer inquiries. As a result of the impact of COVID-19, China Post is therefore declaring a situation of force majeure in regard to the above offices of exchange for all inbound letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items.
