Honduras – Resumption of inbound international mail processing

08 April, 2021

Update

Empresa de Correos de Honduras (Honducor), asks us to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that, in ‎view of the measures adopted by the Honduran Government to minimize the spread of COVID-19 and protect the population, the entire territory of Honduras will continue to be subject to restrictions and to a curfew between 21.00 and 05.00 until further notice.

Honducor has, however, resumed the processing and delivery of international mail, and would therefore ask other designated operators to accept items destined for Honduras.

However, to prevent unnecessary contact and mass COVID-19 infection, Honducor will continue to operate with only 50% of its employees on site, in accordance with the monitoring and prevention plan to safeguard the health of the population. This will have a significant impact on the quality of sorting and delivery of ‎inbound items, and delays are to be expected in the processing of ‎international accounts and inquiries as well as in the customs clearance of inbound and outbound items.

Honducor asks designated operators to take due account of the above information, and advises them ‎that the force majeure situation previously notified remains in force, in accordance with article 23 of ‎the Universal Postal Convention and article  25-001 of the Convention Regulations.‎

Honducor thanks all Union member countries and their designated operators for their understanding.
