Hongkong Post, the People's Republic of China's designated operator for the territory of Hong Kong, asks us to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that a No. 8 tropical cyclone warning signal (Typhoon Talim) was raised shortly after midnight on 17 July 2023 in Hong Kong. This situation is affecting the processing and conveyance of all domestic and international mail (letter post, parcels and EMS). Customer service call centres are also affected.
It is expected that the impact will last for a few days before backlogs can be cleared and operations can return to normal.
