Luxembourg – Measures to limit the spread of COVID-19

01 December, 2020

Update

The designated operator of Luxembourg, Post Luxembourg, asks us to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that, given the level and impact of the second wave of COVID-19, the Luxembourg Government has enacted new restrictions that came into effect on 26 November and will last at least until 15 December 2020.

Post Luxembourg is making every effort to ensure the continuity of all services and letter and parcel post deliveries, while respecting the safety guidelines and new measures aimed at reducing contacts and movements to a minimum. However, the safety measures in place for certain categories of staff across Luxembourg are liable to result in processing and delivery delays throughout the country.

Several measures have been implemented to ensure the safety of both customers and staff, including the following:

  • Post offices will remain open in general, with limited opening hours possible, but some offices may be closed temporarily;
  • For all letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items requiring signature on delivery, the addressee's signature will be replaced by that of the postman/woman, together with the delivery code, entered in the presence of the addressee.

Compliance with delivery standards and deadlines will not be guaranteed.

Post Luxembourg thanks all Union member countries and their designated operators for their understanding.
