New Caledonia – Strict lockdown

17 September, 2021

Update

The Office of Posts and Telecommunications (OPT-NC), wishes to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that the Government of New Caledonia has decided to impose strict lockdown measures, effective as of noon (local time) on 7 September 2021, in order to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus. For the duration of the lockdown, movement will be restricted and transport services will be limited. This will affect the processing and delivery of inbound and outbound postal items. For all letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items requiring a signature on delivery, the addressee's signature will be replaced by that of the postman/woman or OPT-NC agent. OPT-NC thanks all Union member countries and their designated operators for their understanding.
