The designated operator of Sri Lanka, the Department of Posts, wishes to inform all other Union member countries and their designated operators that, owing to the rapid spread of COVID-19, the government has extended the current strict island-wide travel restrictions until 21 June 2021. The Department of Posts will continue to operate under the current restrictions and safety guidelines.
Administrative functions of all government institutions, including the Department of Posts, will continue to be performed through telework.
The restrictions announced in EmIS 160/2021 will continue to apply until 21 June2021.
The Department of Posts is therefore unable to guarantee compliance with the agreed delivery standards for all mail categories.
The Department of Posts thanks all Union member countries and their designated operators for their understanding.
