Vietnam – Disruption to EDI transmissions

23 August, 2020

Update

VNPost, asks us to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that, in accordance with the governmental order issued in response to recent cases of COVID-19, the measures implemented to minimize the spread of the virus are applicable in provinces and cities where its offices of exchange are located. As a result, the IT system for mail operations at the Hanoi ND office of exchange (IMPC code: VNHANA) will be subject to disruption from 19 to 26 August 2020.

This disruption may affect the exchange of EDI messages (EMSEVT, PREDES/RESDES, PRECON/RESCON, CARDIT/RESDIT and ITMATT) between VNPost and other designated operators and air carriers.

Other activities relating to inbound and outbound mail flows are functioning as normal, in accordance with the UPU Convention and Regulations, and any other relevant agreements. However, the force majeure situation previously announced continues to apply, with an impact on quality of service for all types of mail, including inbound and outbound letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items.

VNPost thanks all Union member countries and their designated operators for their understanding and apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
